WE ARE OPEN!

On June 8, a ceremony to launch the School of Gender Activists (SGA) for youth was held in Dushanbe.

The opening ceremony of the School of Gender Activists (SGA) was attended by and featured speeches from key officials — representatives of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Executive Authority of Sughd Region (including the Department for Women’s Affairs, the Department for Youth and Sports, and the Department for Social Work and Relations with Civil Society Organizations), as well as prominent women leaders of the country.
The central message of all speeches was clear: we must work together to address the gender challenges before us.
Graduates of the SGA advanced course — Khusrav Bobobekov, Sanavbar Raupova, Zebo Sharifova, Nigora Valikhojaeva, and Farangis Sodikzoda — shared their impressions of the courses they had completed, offered words of encouragement, and spoke about the knowledge and skills they gained during Phases 1 and 2 of the Spotlight Initiative Program through their participation in the School of Gender Activists.
Immediately following the official opening ceremony of the Schools, the first training session began, led by leading gender experts.
First feedback from youth participants of the SGA:
“We are truly impressed by the lessons and topics we are now studying. Every day we receive so much useful information.”
— Saodat Usmonova, participant of the SGA for youth in Dushanbe.
