Two-Day Training for Women and Girls Concludes in Isfara

On May 22, a two-day training titled “Knowing Your Rights – Leaving No One Behind” concluded in the city of Isfara. The training was organized for women from vulnerable families and aimed to strengthen their legal awareness and protection mechanisms.

The second day of the training proved to be just as engaging and important as the first. Participants explored a wide range of topics, including:

  • Gender-based violence in the family and society
  • Formation of gender roles and their impact on women’s lives
  • Types of violence and how to recognize them
  • Human rights and access to free legal assistance

As part of the training, women worked on real-life case studies, learning how to analyze complex situations and identify legal solutions. Special attention was given to inheritance rights, family law, labor rights, and the rights of persons with disabilities.

The event concluded with a discussion of the outcomes, feedback from participants, and completion of final questionnaires. Many of the women noted that they had gained essential knowledge that would help them better defend themselves and their loved ones.

This training is part of the project “Effective Partnership Between Government Structures and Civil Society Organizations to Strengthen Community Capacity in Preventing Violence Against Women in Two Regions of Tajikistan”, implemented with the support of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women.
