On July 8, 2025, a roundtable dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action took place at the Hilton Hotel in Dushanbe. The event brought together youth representatives, NGOs, activists, journalists, and experts to discuss women’s rights and gender equality.

Organizers: the “Life Without Violence” Network and the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, with support from UN Women. The purpose of the event was to review the current state of women’s rights in Tajikistan and explore future directions within the framework of the global agenda “Beijing+30.”

Speakers included Chamanoro Rustam Odinazoda, Deputy Chair of the Committee on Women, and Javokhir Ziyoratshoevna Akobirova, Head of the Gender Development and International Relations Department, who shared updates on national achievements and key areas of collaboration with civil society.

Marziya Baydulloyeva, Head of the UN Women Office, highlighted Tajikistan’s progress in expanding women’s rights, developing national strategies, supporting victims of violence, creating leadership opportunities for women and girls, and improving access to education, healthcare, and civic participation. Challenges remain, including digital inequality, social stereotypes, violence against women and girls, and the disproportionate impact of climate change on rural women.

The discussion focused on six global priorities of “Beijing+30,” including digital transformation, reducing violence against women and girls, and climate justice. The program featured an interactive quiz, expert presentations, and group discussions to share experiences and practical recommendations.
