On June 24–25, 2025, a training titled “Advocacy and Strategic Communication for Change: How to Achieve Reforms in the Field of Gender-Based Violence” took place in Khujand, Sughd region, for representatives of civil society organizations.
Participants included civil society representatives and activists from Sughd region. Among the guests were Shudjoat Khasanova, Chairperson of the Advisory Council of CSOs in Sughd, and international expert Gulnara Karakulova, Director of the Women’s Resource Center (Shymkent, Kazakhstan) and Regional Coordinator for the CIS at Women’s Learning Partnership (WLP) – International.
The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of CSOs in advocacy and strategic communication on gender-based and domestic violence. Participants deepened their knowledge of key advocacy approaches and studied methods for effective engagement with authorities and communities.
Special attention was given to preparing CSOs for conducting local information campaigns and initiatives to raise public awareness about gender-based violence. These initiatives will be implemented in project areas of Sughd region.
