On May 14, 2025, a roundtable titled “Collaborative Action: Empowering Women to Prevent Violence” was held in the “Hafiz” conference hall of the “Rumi” Hotel in Dushanbe. The event was organized by the public organization “MIR – Markazi Imkoniyat Bahri Rushd” (PO MIR).
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss effective approaches to preventing violence against women, share successful practices, and foster sustainable partnerships between government bodies, international organizations, and civil society institutions.
The roundtable was attended by:
- representatives of international organizations and diplomatic missions,
- specialists from government agencies,
- activists and experts from public associations,
- and other stakeholders working in the field of women’s rights protection.
As part of the roundtable program, three thematic presentations were delivered, each highlighting different aspects of addressing gender-based violence:
- Experience and Achievements of the “Life Without Violence” Network
(Presented by G. Bobosadykova) - Project Strategy and Women’s Engagement at the Local Level
(Presented by M.N. Naimzoda) - Factors Contributing to Women’s Vulnerability to Violence and Recommendations for Stronger Protection
(Presented by M. Obidova)
The event was organized within the framework of the project “Effective Partnership between Government Structures and NGOs to Strengthen the Capacity of Local Communities in Preventing Violence Against Women in Two Regions of Tajikistan.” The project is implemented by the Public Organization MIR with the support of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women.
